Trailers
Mobile ASL systems support the full functionality described on the ASL System Features page for delivery of General Public and Corps of Discovery student programs. Mobile systems may also be configured to support live streaming to remote sites.
Trailer systems are typically customized to meet the unique needs of an operator, with the following considerations impacting a unit’s size, design and cost:
- Student/Passenger seating capacity
- Heating/Cooling and on-board power requirements
- Operator and operator customer locations
- Extra equipment storage needs
- Other customer requested features
Vans
Van system design and build considerations are similar to those of trailers but are constrained by chassis options offered by the van manufacturer. These constraints can limit some design options such as seating capacity.
Van systems offer the advantage of not requiring a tow vehicle. If needed, they can be configured to pull a small cargo trailer for hauling any extra equipment an operator might use for in-class activities such as a portable planetarium.
